Major development plans for Walthamstow Central station have been published by Solum Regeneration.

The new plans are a reworking of previously published ideas. The development represents a significant change to the station and the area around it. Plans include 69 new homes, a hotel, a new station square and a pedestrian link to Queen’s Road Station. Full details of the plans can be found on Solum’s website.

Walthamstow Central is the part of E17 where a lot of visitors to the area arrive. Alongside the on-going debate around the future of Walthamstow Stadium, the EMD Cinema and the Arcade site, this could potentially have a big impact on the area – and on the people living in the immediate vicinity of the station.

According to the Waltham Forest Guardian, there is a meeting to discuss the new plans at Waltham Forest Town Hall on Wednesday 15 December at 6.30pm. If you’d like to find out more or comment on the development, head down to that session. Alternatively, we’d recommend contacting your local councillors to give your views. Contact details can be found on the Waltham Forest Council website.
