Mimi Khalvati

Poet Mimi Khalvati heads up a night of poetry at Walthamstow Central Library on Wednesday 2 March. The event also features two locally based rising stars, Emma Hammond and Dave Bryant, and poetry from members of the Forest Poets.

Mimi Khalvati was born in Iran and has lived most of her life in England. Her most recent book, ‘The Meanest Flower’, was shortlisted for the TS Eliot prize. Mimi is a founder of  The Poetry School.

Emma Hammond and Dave Bryant are the other two featured poets on the bill. Emma’s blog can be found here, and information on Dave can be found here. The line-up is completed by Forest Poets Jane Colman, Ruth Wiggins, Michael Shamm and Nigel Pollitt.

Entry to the event is £4 and wine and cheese will be available. Bargain. Doors open at 7pm and it’s nice and close to the tube. You can find more information on the event here.
