Organic cafe The Hornbeam is holding another night of entertainment in the form of ‘The Night of the Green Poets’ on Friday 6 May. The night is headlined by poet Danny Chivers, and features a host of other entertainment.

Danny Chivers is an established poet and author. His official blurb features the following description:

Danny’s unique brand of comic slam
poetry tackles subjects such as climate change, the war on terror, and
world domination by militant pigeons. He believes that humour, sarcasm,
dodgy rhymes and pop culture references are all suitable weapons in the
fight against global injustice and against people who compare him to a
fictional teenage wizard.

So there you go! Also appearing on the night are Ell Eco, Ru Litherland and some live bands. As if that’s not enough, hot food and tasty vegan cocktails are also on offer. The Hornbeam is a lovely cafe and this looks like a fun night.

Doors open at 7.30pm with performances until late. Thickets are £4 in advance and also available on the night for £4.50. More information on The Hornbeam, which is on Hoe St near Bakers Arms, can be found here.
