E17 Jazz returns with a new home

Local jazz cats will be heartened by the return of E17 Jazz, a regular club in the area. The club returned at the beginning of April, so I’m a little behind here, but they’ve got gigs lined up well into the Summer already.

The E17 Jazz nights have moved to the Walthamstow Cricket Club as their new venue, and the gigs are on a Wednesday night. The cricket club is not too far from Wood Street overground station, on Greenaway Avenue, E17 3QN. The jazz club has been going since 2008, and recently moved to the Cricket Club.

The next gig is Nick Smalley’s Clunk, which is on Wednesday 27 April, with a jam night on 4 May and Cast (the jazz band not the late 90s Britpop heroes) on 11 May. All gigs are £5 and kick off at 8.30pm.

The E17 Jazz website is here, and it’s rather snazzy, with lots of info and some tracks from bands previously featured. The Londonjazz website also has gig listings into July, and that can be found here.
