The second Walthamstow International Film Festival is coming up in September and the organisers are looking for contributions from E17ers. As well as submitting films for the festival, you can also contribute photos to their promo video. Deadline for photos is 18 May.

The festival want people to send in pictures of the words “Walthamstow”, “International”, “Film”, “Festival” and “2011″ from around E17. These pictures will then be used in a film. Festival Director Paul Fletcher said this:

We want the residents of Walthamstow to send us local examples of the words in the title plus shots of landmarks, or people unique to the area, which we will then put into our 1 minute promo film. Instead of the usual suspects like the dog track or town hall we want unusual and innovative shots of recognisable E17 from the Walthamstow area.

The festival began last year and was started by local residents Paul and Liza Fletcher. This year the judges for the festival include Baroness Oona King, actor Paul McGann, director Barry Bliss and Time Out film critic David Jenkins.

The deadline for submissions for photos is 18 May. Photos should be emailed to e17films@gmail.com. Details about what format and file type the photos should be in can be found here.
