The Hornbeam Cafe is hosting a night of poetry and political songs on Saturday 16 July. The ‘Songs of Freedom’ event features a variety of bands and is a fundraising event for Earth Activist Training.

‘Songs of Freedom’ features folk performers Imogen & Rosie, Spanish/South American folk from Pilar Awa, puppets and music from Counterclock Creatures, and The Variable Performers playing Rachel’s songs. It’s Saturday 16 July and costs £5 to get in.

If you’ve not been to the Hornbeam, it’s a lovely venue but pretty small so you should book in advance. There will be food and drinks available on the night, doors open at 7pm and bands begin at 8pm. More details are on the Hornbeam website here. If you’d like to hear more about the Hornbeam cafe, read Rachel Grasby’s interview with Walthamstow Scene here. The Hornbeam cafe is at 458 Hoe Street, near Bakers Arms.

The event is a fundraiser for Earth Activist Training, which is an ecological design course, more details of which are available here.
