The E17 Art Trail, one of the biggest cultural events in Walthamstow’s calendar, has kicked off! The E17 Art Trail runs until Sunday 11 September and Walthamstow Scene are delighted to be one of this year’s sponsors.

This year’s festival is the biggest ever, with 160 venues and 300 exhibitions. Alongside the festival there are walking and bike tours, a Poetry Trail, Children’s Art Trail, a link-up with Streetlife Radio, and a smartphone app from @app17UK.

Full details of the dizzying array of things to do can be found on the E17 Art Trail website, and we wont even try and summarise them all here! Some of the things we’re looking forward to checking out are the Blackhorse Lane Open Studios (Venue 2), the Punk Recruit Hits and Misses, the photography at Le Delice (Venue 45), ‘London, You’re a Lady’ at E17 Art House (Venue 63), Emma Scutt and Steve Smith’s works (Venue 80), the People’s History of the EMD Cinema, and of course ‘Gods on Skin’, the live tattooing at Ink’D (Venue 10). Could even be tempted to get some new ink!

Of course, there are lots of marvellous venues across E17, such as The Mill, Beautiful Interiors, The Rose & Crown, The Castle, Daisy’s and Tokarska Gallery, to name but a few. For us though, the joy of the Art Trail is really in wandering around, visiting people’s houses and finding little exhibitions which really show off the creativity we’ve got in E17.

It’s a gorgeous day in E17, the Art Trail is where it’s at, so visit their website, pick up a trail guide and enjoy!
