The Forest Poets are holding a free show at Walthamstow Library on Wednesday 28 September as part of the East London Libraries Festival. The show will feature Tim Wells, Meryl Pugh and Emma Hammond.

Forest Poets hold regular events around Walthamstow and this one looks like a good line-up. Tim Wells is founding editor of the poetry magazine ‘Rising’, and his books include the wonderfully-named ‘A Man Can Be A Drunk Sometimes, But A Drunk Can’t Be A Man’.

Emma Hammond published her latest collection of poetry, ‘tunth-sk’, earlier this year, and some of her work can be found on her excellent blog here. Meryl Pugh also appears, alongside support from members of the Forest Poets (Ruth Wiggins, Angelena Demaria, Norman Andrews, Michael Shann), music and poetry from Gemma Boyd, and MC duties performed by Mike Sims.

The event is free and there will be wine available to purchase on the night. It is at Walthamstow Central Library on Wednesday 28 September at 6.30pm. More details, and a nice picture of Tim Wells, can be found on the Facebook event page here.
