The Walthamstow & District Photographic Society are holding an exhibition of over 300 prints and projections at St Mary’s Welcome Centre. The exhibition starts with an opening ceremony on Monday 24 October.

The Walthamstow & District Photographic Society, or W&DPS, has apparently been running for a whopping 107 years, having been established in 1894. They meet on Mondays between 8-10pm at the Greenleaf Road Baptist Church, E17 6QQ. You can attend for up to three meetings before becoming a member. W&DPS do not focus on any one genre or type of photography, and I’m sure they would welcome new members.

The exhibition is at St Mary’s Welcome Centre, near St Mary’s Church in Walthamstow Village. It runs from Monday 24 October to Saturday 29 October and it’s free with refreshments available. The exhibition is open in the evenings from 7pm, and the Opening Ceremony is on Monday night at 8pm. On Saturday 29 October, it’s open all day.

More information on W&DPS, including a rather jolly History section which concentrates on the early years of the Society, can be found on their website here.
