Folie à Deux are presenting a new exhibition at Tokarska Gallery on Forest Road. Entitled ‘Surface Tension’, the show will run from 10 – 26 November, with a Private Viewing party on Thursday 10 November.

‘Surface Tension’ is a group show featuring the work of four emerging London-based artists: Naomi Doran, Tom Hackney, Onya McCausland and Giulia Ricci. According to the press release:

The title reflects the fact that all of the artists engage with and explore the boundaries of the two-dimensional media which they use in one way or another; yet this is only one aspect of their works’ incredibly rich, multi-layered character – many of the pieces also reflecting how we as human beings relate to, perceive and interact with our environment. Abstract in nature, they are marked by an exciting and unconventional mix of media, ranging from oil paint to felt-tip pens and plaster, as well as industrial and natural elements such as concrete, iron and  steel.

That all sounds good, then. Tokarska Gallery has a growing reputation in Walthamstow, and has hosted a number of launch parties, and everytime we’ve been along they have been good fun.

The Private View is, in fact, open to anyone, but you have to RSVP, which you can do by emailing the gallery. Tokarska Gallery is at 163 Forest Road, E17 6HE, and the private view is on Thursday 10 November, from 6-9pm. The show then runs until Saturday 26 November (although I don’t think it is open every day, so do check with the gallery). Full details can be found on the Tokarska Gallery website.
