The marvellous Dark Captain are playing a gig at the Rose & Crown on Saturday 11 February. Support comes from Bella Echoes and Chad Mason.

Dark Captain are an indie/folk rock band based in Walthamstow, who released their second album, ‘Dead Legs & Alibis’, in late 2011. You can hear more from them on their website, or check out the video to the song ‘Right Way Round’ below. The video to ‘Right Way Round’ was shot locally (although you can’t tell that from watching it, you’ll have to trust me!). They did an interview with Gogoyoko (a totally awesome Icelandic music site which is a favourite at Stow Scene HQ) which really is worth a read.

Bella Echoes are also based in Walthamstow, and play some fine melodic rock. They are a five piece, despite there only being four on them in this photo. You can check out some of their songs on their website.

Also playing is Chad Mason. We’re not actually sure where Chad Mason is from, although he has a song called ‘Walthamstow’, so it’s probably not too far away! Below is a live version of the song, recorded at a gig in Norwich in 2011.

The gig is on Saturday 11 February from 8pm. Entry is £5, there are no advance tickets so just turn up. It’s at the Rose & Crown and it looks like it will be a really good gig!
