Wood Street Indoor Market will be opening the doors to a range of new tenants with a launch event on Saturday 11 February. The market will feature 21 new shops, plus the cool old ones, and the launch is an all-day event.

The re-launching of Wood Street Indoor Market, with it’s offer of rent-free units to new businesses, has been a popular post on this site, and generated an impressive amount of applications. The new tenants have been selected, they’ve tarted up their units, and the opening is this coming Saturday.

The new shops include a florist, a bakery, a coffee shop, vintage clothes, a poster shop, plus a variety of crafts and arty coolness. A full list of the new tenants can be found on the Wood Street Market blog. It’s an interesting mix of businesses, and I hope it works. I’d like to Wood Street thrive. The Indoor Market already has some good businesses in it, the Duke’s Head has regular live music, and frankly, Walthamstow could do with interesting new businesses locating themselves outside of the Village.

The launch event is on Saturday 11 February from 10am-5.30pm and, obviously, is in Wood Street Indoor Market. There’s a Facebook event page with more details, and here’s that Wood Street Indoor Market website.
