Screen 17 to bring cinema to Walthamstow

A new regular pop-up cinema has been launched in E17. Screen 17 will put on film screenings at the Orford Road Social Club, beginning with a Kids Club screening in July and launching evening cinema screenings from September.

‘Picture Show’ at the E17 Art House

Walking proud in E17

Walking Proud in East London kicks off this year’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transexual History month on Friday. The Vestry House exhibition shows oral histories of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans East Londoners. It runs from 7pm-9pm on Friday 4 February. Other events during the month include a reading with the author Ellen Galford and various awareness-raising projects. Film workshop on Tuesday

E17 Films are holding their next film workshop at Ye Olde Rose & Crown next Tuesday, 18 January. The workshop is on “Writing dialogue: making it authentic”. Liza Fletcher, Director of the Walthamstow International Film Festival, says “people of all levels are welcome to our film workshops – we just need students to come with enthusiasm for making films.” Entry to the workshop is £5, it starts at 8pm, more details are available here.
